Silent Prayer
I hope I can love you for the longest time.
Despite sounding dangerously close to that infamous line from Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket (1987), I like to repeat this line to myself in times of solitude. A silent prayer, if you will.
It's not that I am afraid of falling out of love with you...
Or that I am expecting something bad would happen...
It's a hopeful wish that I would want to do for the rest of our lives together.
Disregarding semantics of sentimental love for the time being, I'm very thankful though we have great chemistry together and I love the commitment we have for each other. We are approaching yet another chapter in our lives and frankly, I'd like to spend the rest of it with the best of it. By best I mean you hehe.
You make everything better. You embody the ideas of love and romance I've always yearned for.
I am yours and you are mine to keep. I have so much faith and trust in you and in us it's doing a balancing act between noble and foolhardy. and (no surprise) it's trudging along nicely. Sure, we've had our fights. We will have some more even and yet,
I wouldn't have it any other way. I believe in the love that we have. We may suffer at times but let me tell you one thing, I am very satisfied with my life. I have something to live for. To look forward to.

Long Distance Dad Entry 1 (of many? :D )
I have yet to hold my son in my arms and it makes me both lonely and excited.
As soon as our plans were coming into fruition, I knew we were going to be apart for a while and no matter what I say to myself for reassurance, there is no preparing for the challenges to face as a long distance dad.
There are times where it is frustrating because all you want to do is help and be there for them but sadly that cannot be the case. Sometimes there will be arguments that may cause tension but above else, our son will always be the source of strength and happiness for us. Maintaining this emotional bond and showing them care and affection is very important.
We are, in a way, in a long distance relationship for the long run. And keeping (and maintaining) a long distance relationship is never easy – it requires a huge amount of effort. Understanding the issues and being supportive at a time when they need you (or don't at all) is the foundation of a healthy relationship.
